The norm for ceiling height varies between 2.50 meters (recent housing) and 2.80 meters for older housing, with a few exceptions (noble floor of Haussmann buildings or loft).

It's impossible not to find the right curtain size: as the height of our curtains is adjustable, you're likely to find the right width for your window in our standard height collection (280cm).

Get ready!

Now it's time to measure your curtain rod.

Is there anything you need to know about taking measurements? Go directly to our recommendations on the number and size of curtains to buy for your rod. or adjust your choice according to your desired look.

For best results, the rod should be placed between 10 cm and 15 cm above the window and extend 20 cm beyond each side. side of the brackets.

Measure width

To determine the width of your rod, if it's ceiling-mounted, measure the distance between the 2 brackets.
To find out the width of your rod, if it's wall-mounted, measure the distance between the 2 brackets.
To find out the width of your rod if it's installed between two walls, measure the space between the two walls.

Measure height

If you plan to hang curtains with eyelets, measure the distance between the top of the rod and the floor, then add 3 cm to the measured total. If you plan to hang pencil pleat curtains, measure the distance between the bottom of the rod and the floor.
If you plan to hang panel curtains, measure the distance from the bottom of the bar to the floor.

The look you want

The little details that make all the difference... and the uniqueness of an interior.

While the choice of curtain size (width and height) depends on the size and positioning of the rod, you also need to take into account the desired effect.

The fall

For a clean look, look for a low fall of 1 cm above the floor. For a brittle finish, allow an extra 3 to 5 cm.

To adjust the height of your curtains: use the thermo-adhesive strip supplied with each curtain panel and consult our hemming guide or use our home alteration service.

Gathering

The greater the width of the curtain, the more gathered it will be with a pencil pleat curtain head, or the more wavy it will be with an eyelet curtain head.

Curtains

For a lightly gathered effect, choose a width of curtains equivalent to 1.5 times the width of your rod.

For a pronounced gathered effect, opt for a curtain width equivalent to 2 times the width of your rod.

Sheer curtains

For a lightly gathered effect, choose a curtain width equivalent to 1.5 times the width of your rod.

For a pronounced gathered effect, choose a width of sheer curtain equivalent to 2.5 times the width of your rod.
